Speak to a Committee or Commission

Attending Committee or Board Meetings as a Delegation

How to Request to Speak to a Committee or Commission

Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Committee and Board meetings are usually held during the day in the CVRD Civic Room at 770 Harmston Avenue, in Courtenay. For a schedule of upcoming meetings, including dates, times and locations, refer to this calendar.

All CVRD meetings are open to the public, although the public may be excluded from portions of meetings where topics of discussion are of a sensitive or confidential nature. This portion of a meeting is said to be “in-camera.”

Request to Appear as a Delegation

Delegations may address committees of the Board to make presentations about issues affecting the Comox Valley Regional District.

To appear before a committee, you must submit a Request to Appear as a Delegation form to the CVRD Legislative Services Department at least one week before the meeting day at which you wish to appear. Your request should include your name, address and telephone number. Please also state the nature of your request and provide a short description of your presentation.

You will receive acknowledgement of receipt of your delegation request form. If you have not received an acknowledgment within 24 hours, call 250-334-6000 and ask for Legislative Services.

If there is not an available time slot, you will be contacted by a staff member to make alternative arrangements for your request. Due to time constraints, all delegation appearances must be limited to 10 minutes.
