The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) contracts out Emterra Environmental for the pick-up of garbage and recycling in Royston. For recycling and waste management information, including depot locations and other areas/municipalities within the CVRD, visit Comox Strathcona Waste Management.

2025 & 2026 Service Updates
Effective January 1, 2025, the service fee for Royston Curbside Collection will increase from $2.92 per week to $4.44 per week. These fee updates reflect the increased costs of providing the service and the costs associated with renewing the collection contract. This adjustment ensures that Royston residents continue to receive high-quality service at the most competitive rates.
Effective January 1, 2026, the Royston curbside collection program will transition to automated carts, including food and yard waste collection. Residents will have multiple opportunities to view and select the cart size that best suits their household needs. Additional information, including costs, dates and times of open houses, and locations for viewing the carts, will be posted to this page as more information becomes available in 2025.
