At the May 23 Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board meeting, the Board approved several projects for the Province of BC’s Growing Communities Grant Funds within the CVRD. The primary objective of the funds is to help communities build infrastructure and amenities necessary to support growing communities. Local government plays a significant role to ensure critical services are in place so community growth is possible.

- Mount Washington Fire Hall Project (2023) $600,000;

“This is an exciting step forward for a number of major projects within the CVRD,” explains Electoral Areas Services Committee Chair, Richard Hardy. “These funds were based on specific program requirements supporting board priorities. We are thrilled to see these investments built into the growth of the Comox Valley and the value they bring towards community development.”
There is approximately $1,617,000 remaining in Growing Communities funding, which will be allocated after board strategic planning sessions in mid-June.
