Planning for the Future of Saratoga Beach Community
The Comox Valley Regional District is developing a Local Area Plan to help shape the future of Saratoga Beach area — a unique and beautiful coastal community. This plan will guide land use and development in a way that protects local ecosystems, responds to climate change, and reflects the community’s values and vision.
Saratoga Beach is known for its rural charm and appeal as a tourism destination. At the same time, the area faces key challenges, including limited water supply in the summer, excess water in the winter, and risks from river and coastal flooding. Its location between the Comox Valley and Campbell River creates both transportation opportunities and pressures.
With your input, the Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan will include a shared vision, planning goals, and land use directions that reflect what makes this community special.

Timeline
The planning process begins in April 2025 and is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
