The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and BC Parks are working together on park plans for the regional and provincial parks that protect Mount Geoffrey on Hornby Island and the public is invited to provide input on the final draft management plans.
BC Parks is developing a new management plan for Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Park while the CVRD is updating the 1998 park master plan for Mount Geoffrey Regional Nature Park and is also seeking input on the management of the adjacent Crown lands trails.
The management plans aim to describe the vision for these lands and provide guidance to protect the ecological, cultural and recreational values of Mount Geoffrey into the future. These final draft plans are the result of extensive public consultation and review by the Mount Geoffrey Planning Committee, K'ómoks First Nation and both CVRD and BC Parks staff over several years.
Interested members of the public can participate in a final public review by commenting on these final draft management plans until March 22, 2017. To review the plans and background information, and to provide your feedback, visit the following websites:

The CVRD and BC Parks will collaborate on the review of public comments received and make final revisions to the plan as required. After the plan is finalized, the board would then need to consider adoption of the plan. For updates, check back to the above noted websites.
