Open Fire Ban Issued By Oyster River Fire Rescue

Oyster River Fire Rescue is instituting a complete ban on open fires within the Black Creek/ Oyster Bay fire protection areas effective tomorrow, Friday, August 1 starting at noon and until further notice.

Consistent with the Wildfire Management Branch, this prohibition does not apply to CSA-rated or ULC-rated cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes or to a portable campfire apparatus that uses briquettes, liquid or gaseous fuel, so long as the height of the flame is less than 15 cm. All use of tiki torches, wood burning fire bowls or chimineas, fireworks or sky lanterns is prohibited.
