New Chief Financial Officer Joins CVRD This August

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is pleased to announce Lucy Wiwcharuk will be the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on August 8, 2022. As the CFO, Lucy will lead the financial, accounting, insurance, procurement, asset management and contracting functions for the organization and will be key in ensuring an integrated approach aligning to the CVRD Board’s strategic priorities.

Lucy comes to the CVRD from the City of Airdrie, Alberta, where she has been the Director of Corporate Service and CFO since 2012 where she provided strategic leadership to the organization and oversaw various departments including financial services, procurement, risk management, revenue and assessment services (utility administration, taxes and assessment) and information technology. Lucy started with the City in 2007. Lucy has a deep background in financial planning and working with the public. As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holding a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Lucy will continue to ensure a strong financial position and strategic direction for the CVRD.

Lucy will contribute to the CVRD’s stability as an organization and help achieve our goal, which is to deliver top quality services to our residents in an affordable and responsible way.”

The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities providing sustainable services for residents and visitors to the area. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
