The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) board of directors has elected Bruce Jolliffe as its chair. Manno Theos was elected as vice-chair. They will serve in these positions for the next year.
This will be the first term as chair for Jolliffe, who was elected at the inaugural board meeting today. The chair, along with the other nine directors, oversees the activities and services that the regional district delivers to its nearly 64,000 residents.
The CVRD board elects its chair and vice-chair position each year. Municipal mayors and councillors appoint directors from their areas to sit on the CVRD board, and the elected representatives from the electoral areas make up the other CVRD board members. Jolliffe represents Baynes Sound-Denman/Hornby Islands (Area ‘A’) as director, and Manno Theos is a councilor from the City of Courtenay
