CVRD Board Announces New Chief Administrative Officer

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) board announced that James Warren has been appointed the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the regional district beginning November 15, 2023.   James has been with the regional district for over 18 years and has held progressive leadership roles during this time. Since 2020 James has been the Deputy CAO and as of last April has been the Acting CAO for the regional district.

James is honoured by the appointment of the board and is looking forward to continuing to serve the Comox Valley and working with the team of exceptional staff at the CVRD.

The CVRD Board is pleased to welcome James into his new role as the Chief Administrative Officer, states CVRD Board Chair Cole-Hamilton. “The CAO position is the regional district’s lead staff person and is tasked with balancing the political interests of the Board with the organization’s operations to deliver public services. James’ experience allows him to draw on relationships and knowledge to lead the organization and continue to deliver on its 99 services."

The Comox Valley Regional District is a partnership of three electoral areas and three municipalities operating on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of the land. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on providing sustainable services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
