Comox Valley Regional District Seeks Public Input to Future of Exhibition Grounds

Have your say regarding the future of the Exhibition Grounds. The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is preparing a Master Plan for the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds, which play an important factor in our agricultural community and the CVRD is committed to using the Exhibition Grounds to enrich the quality of life, both social and economic, of the region’s residents.

The project started in September 2016, with a consultant hired to manage the project, and to conduct a number of interviews and discussions with user groups and other interested parties. The views of the public are being sought in two ways: through an online survey and at a public open house. The survey link, and project information, is available through the CVRD website at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/exgrounds until November 20, 2016.

A public open house is scheduled for November 3, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre (Rotary Hall) in Courtenay. There will be a short presentation and an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and provide input to the project. Results will be compiled in time for the consultant, Bob Yates to present ideas and suggestions to the CVRD board in early 2017.

The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities providing sustainable services for residents and visitors to the area. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
