The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) announced that Myriah Foort will be their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) starting in May, following the retirement of long-standing CFO Beth Dunlop in April. As the CFO, she will lead the financial, accounting, insurance, procurement, asset management and contracting functions for the organization and will be key in ensuring an integrated approach aligning to the board’s strategic priorities.
Myriah recently was honoured with an Early Achievement Award by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. She comes to the role with a diverse background leading innovative initiatives and striving for continual improvement within local government. With over eight years’ experience working within various financial positions in local government, Myriah’s experience as the CFO at both the City of Campbell River and Strathcona Regional District has demonstrated her strong strategic leadership within the public sector. Myriah holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).

Our long-standing CFO Beth is retiring in April and is leaving us in sound financial position, to be maintained and built on as we continue enhance our service delivery to the growing Comox Valley region.”
The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities providing sustainable services for residents and visitors to the area. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
