Board Approves Rural Community Grants

At the May 23 Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board meeting, the Board approved $228,540 in funding through the Rural Community Grant program.

Each year the CVRD provides a variety of granting opportunities to non-profit and charitable organizations. The Rural Community Grant program (formerly known as Grant-in-Aid) was launched in January 2021 to help non-profit community organizations with funding that benefits the general community.

“The CVRD is proud to offer these grants to an amazing list of non-profits and charitable organizations,” explains Electoral Areas Services Committee Chair, Richard Hardy. “The Comox Valley community is a thriving one and we’re glad to offer financial assistance where possible.”

Successful applicants will soon receive written notice on the status of their request with funding awards to be dispersed after August 1, 2023.

Applications to the Rural Community Grant Program are considered on a year-to-year basis for any organization not supported under a multi-year agreement funding stream.
