  • Boil Water Notice Lifted for Users of the Comox Valley Water System
    June 2, 2017

    The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and Island Health have lifted the boil water notice for all users of the Comox Valley water system, effective immediately.  The notice was issued on May 31 due to a positive E. coli sample from the Comox Reservoir. Island Health requires that a boil water notice be issued immediately when E. coli is detected in the treated water. Only after three days of clean samples can the boil water notice be lifted.

  • CVRD Board approves Civic Centre schematic design & financing strategy

    The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board on May 30, approved the Civic Centre – Regional Office Building Project schematic design and financing strategy. For several years the CVRD has been working towards a board strategic priority of developing a regional office facility. The CVRD office is an extremely important aspect of CVRD operations, offering essential services to residents and housing key assets including IT infrastructure, corporate records and fleet vehicles. The current office is problematic due to its flood prone location, inadequate space and expensive lease cost.

  • CSWM Launches Illegal Dumping Prevention Program

Illegal dumping is a growing problem in the CSWM service area with more than 500 illegal dump sites documented since 2012. Illegal dumping harms the environment and can have serious, long-lasting impacts on our region.
