Casual or P/T Employment

Casual (on-call) and part-time positions often become available on short notice and/or to address operational needs. 

Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis for only those positions listed below. Applications must include position of interest and will be kept on file for six (6) months.

 Minimum requirements for casual and part-time positions are listed below:

 Administrative support (casual / on-call)

  • Grade 12
  • Completion of office administration course up to six months duration at a community college
  • Minimum six months directly related experience in performing general administrative support duties 

Night Custodian (Part-time)

  • Grade 12
  • Building service worker certificate
  • Standard first aid
  • Minimum of six months relevant experience
  • Valid BC driver’s license 

Customer Service Representative (Part-time)

  • Grade 12
  • Six  months to one year post-secondary certificate or diploma in business technology or administration
  • Over one and up to two years related experience performing reception and clerical duties and cash experience in a computerized environment
  • Valid BC driver’s license 

Facility Maintenance Worker (Part-time)

  • Grade 12
  • BC refrigerator operators certificate (5th class power engineer)
  • Standard first aid
  • At least one year related experience
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Building service worker certificate and/or pool operator I & II certification would be an asset.

 Recreation facility attendants (Part-time)

  • Grade 12, or currently enrolled in high school
  • Standard first aid and CPR certification
  • Minimum two  years hockey or figure skating experience
  • Valid BC driver’s license 

Lifeguard Instructor (Part-time)

  • Grade 12, or  currently enrolled in high school, plus formal lifeguard and instructor training.
  • Bronze cross certification
  • Current WSI, NLS awards certification
  • Standard first aid and CPR certification
  • Preferred certifications include: current aquacise instructor certification and adaptive aquatics certification

 Waste management labourer (on-call)

  • Grade 12, or equivalent
  • Experience operating small equipment
  • Occupational first aid level 1
  • Valid BC class 5 driver’s licence
  • Preferred qualifications include: cashier training course, customer service training and/or experience, equipment operator certification or experience, Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
